Ownership
Coldtill, the company, owns the software, the brand and the money from Standard and Pro licences. The sweep fees that Free and Standard charge aren't paid to the company. They go to on-chain contracts, split between 100 fee share NFTs on each chain.
What the company owns
- The Coldtill software, in every edition, and its source code. The source isn't public.
- The Coldtill name, logo, coldtill.com and the GitHub organisation.
- The price paid for Standard and Pro licences.
- Decisions about what Coldtill becomes: features, releases, pricing and support.
What fee share holders own
When a Free or Standard merchant sweeps a payment to their cold wallet, the same on-chain transaction takes the fee: 2% on Free, 1% on Standard, nothing on Pro. The fee goes to a fee shares contract. Each chain has exactly 100 fee share NFTs, and each one is entitled to 1% of everything that chain's contract receives, in every coin and token, for as long as the chain runs.
- Transferable. An NFT can be sent or sold like any other. Fees it hasn't paid out yet move with it.
- Paid on chain. Anyone can release a share's fees to its holder, or the holder can claim them to any address. Nobody has to approve a payout.
- Permanent. The fee destination was locked on 15 October 2026 on every chain. The shares contracts have no owner and no upgrade path, and the Solana fee shares program is immutable. Nobody, including the company, can redirect fees or mint more shares.
What fee shares are not
A fee share NFT is a claim on fees, written into a contract. It is not a share in the company. It carries no vote, no say in how Coldtill is built or run, no claim on licence income, the code, the brand or any other company asset, and no promise of any amount: fees depend entirely on how much merchants sweep. This page explains how Coldtill is structured and isn't an offer to sell anything.
Who holds the shares
All the shares were minted to wallets controlled by Coldtill's developer. Because they can be transferred freely, the current holders are whoever the chain says they are. Check them on the explorers:

Where to send to the holders
Anyone can pay into a shares contract, and it's split between the 100 holders on that chain exactly like the fees. Only send on the chain listed.

What can still change
- The Solana deposit program, which moves merchants' payments, stays upgradeable by one key so bugs affecting merchants can be fixed. In principle that key could ship a version that routes future Solana fees differently.
- Future editions. The company decides the fee rate of future releases, up to the 2% the contracts allow. Wallets merchants already created keep their rate, because it's fixed on chain when they're set up.
