Coldtill vs SHKeeper

SHKeeper is a free, GPL-3.0 self-hosted crypto payment gateway with wide coin coverage and modules for WooCommerce, WHMCS, OpenCart and PrestaShop. Coldtill is a self-hosted gateway whose deposit addresses can only pay your cold wallet. Both need no sign-up and take no KYC. The big difference is where customers' payments wait before they reach cold storage.

The short answer: pick SHKeeper if you need Monero, Lightning or WHMCS, or want open source at no cost. Pick Coldtill if you don't want the keys to incoming payments on your web server, or want to take 200+ coins and receive stablecoins.

Where Coldtill is stronger

A break-in can't empty your deposits. SHKeeper stores the private keys for received funds on your server, encrypted behind a password you enter after each restart, and forwards funds to a cold address on a schedule. Until that payout runs, the money sits in a wallet the server can spend. In Coldtill, customers pay into contracts that can only ever send to your cold wallet. The web-facing API holds no keys at all, and the only hot wallet is a small one that pays gas.

200+ coins in, dollars out. Coldtill's auto-convert lets customers pay with XRP, TON, Sui, Cardano, Zcash, memecoins and more, and delivers USDC or USDT to your cold wallet. SHKeeper has no conversion, so every coin you accept is a coin you end up holding, with its price moving after each sale. Settling in stablecoins keeps your books in dollars and makes accounting and tax returns much simpler.

Simpler to run. Coldtill is a single Docker install on a small server. SHKeeper's supported install is Kubernetes, and its docs ask for 8 cores and 8 GB of RAM for the main coins without your own nodes.

Which should you choose?

Choose SHKeeper if you need Monero or a WHMCS module, or want a free open-source gateway and are comfortable running Kubernetes and holding a hot wallet on the server.

Choose Coldtill if you want incoming payments to be safe even if the server is compromised, a one-command install, or the ability to take 200+ coins and keep stablecoins.
